This macro provides simple inline cell formatting, without modifying the formula.

style-for-excel-100.zip

The zip file contains:

• style.xlam: The add-in
• demo.xlsm: The macro sheet, from that the add-in was exported
• styledemo.xslm: A demo file

Install style.xlma (menu Tools:Excel add ins)

Use commands on selected cells:

• Command-option-shift-S for style
• Command-option-shift-R for reset

Syntax

Double single quote for italic.
Triple single quote for bold.
Quintuple single quote for italic bold.

The formula of the cell is not modified.
Quotes are formatted background color and size 1.
Text color is preserved.
Background color is preserved

Limitations

Quote as a first character has a special meaning in Excel.
Add a quote if you start with a italic or bold text
